Applications

Easter Term 2012

Applications are currently open for performance slots at the ADC Theatre and Corpus Playroom during Easter Term 2012.

You can apply for a performance slot at the ADC Theatre and/or the Corpus Playroom on the same form, as well as applying for funding from the CUADC or the Fletcher Players. You can specify a range of preferences across both performance weeks and the venue you'd like your show to be at. All applications are administered by the ADC Theatre.

If you have any questions about an application, want any advice, or simply want to discuss the beginnings of an idea you can email applications@adctheatre.com, the Cambridge University Amateur Dramatic Club (CUADC), applications@cuadc.org, or the Fletcher Players Committee, mbdu2@cam.ac.uk, call 01223 359547, or simply drop into the ADC Theatre.

We encourage applications from anyone, regardless of previous experience or involvement.

Please download the Application Form and Supporting Information.

General Information

The ADC Theatre programmes three seasons a year; Autumn, Spring and Summer. These seasons are ten to twelve production weeks long and are based on the University of Cambridge Terms (see here for dates). The majority of each season is programmed with student shows, but we often host non-student productions and tours at the start and end of seasons. Applications for performances at these times - ie. between Easter and late July, in early October, late December or early January - are welcome from all groups up to a year in advance.

The resident company of the ADC Theatre is the Cambridge University Amateur Dramatic Club. Other companies that regularly use the Theatre include the Cambridge University Musical Theatre Society, the Cambridge Footlights, and the European Theatre Group.

During seasons, mainshows run from Tuesday to Saturday at 7.45pm, during Term there are also lateshows that run from Wednesday to Saturday at 11.00pm, and One Night Stands at 11.00pm on Tuesdays. These times occasionally vary; a show may start on a Monday, or at a different time. Productions can also be programmed in the Larkum Studio or on Sundays in the Bar. Applications for use of the Theatre outside of a season may be considered depending on the type of show and the amount of technical support required.

The ADC Theatre also has space available for hourly hire on some days of the week, on stage, in the bar, in the Larkum Studio or Dressing Rooms. If you are interested in using these rooms please contact the Production Manager.

The Theatre can only be hired for a performance by application to the Manager, normally charging hiring companies on a box office split system, and a minimum charge also applies. Information on the application process can be found in this information pack. Any questions regarding applications or touring productions should be directed to the Production Manager.
