This play is a fun filled, furious, farce. With Alan Bennett as the author you can be assured of a well written script that exudes layers of meaning. He wrote the play in 1973 to take the lid off what was then called ‘the permissive society’. We have now moved on, the permissive youth of the early 70s are now close to claiming their old age pensions. However, Alan Bennett’s observations are as relevant to today as they were in 1973.
