Cock

Mike Bartlett

Mike Bartlett’s Cock is an exciting piece of new writing which examines the politics of emotional manipulation and bisexuality, and dissects both internal and external pressures to decide upon a fixed identity. When John and his boyfriend (M) decide to take a break, John finds himself exploring his sexuality for the first time. The outcome is a humorous, dark, tense, and brutal examination of masculinity, sex, and how we have the potential to destroy one another under the guise of ‘love’.

Cock premiered at the Royal Court Theatre in 2009, winning the Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre.
