Snow Orchid

Joe Pintauro

Rocco Lazzarra returns home to face his resistant family after suffering a nervous breakdown, and spending a two year spell learning to open up in a psychiatric hospital. Rocco has arrived with a new heart, a will to find love that he never had for his wife, to ensure a better future for his sons, to repair the raw emotional wounds that still sting from a previous life of silence, repression and domestic violence. Tentatively excited and terrified in equal parts, his wife Filumena is twenty years younger than him, brought to America from Sicily as his wife largely against her will. Sebbie, the couple's closeted son, yearns for a better life, as does Blaise, the Amerigano's brother. As tensions rise, each character is forced to confront the shattered past of the repressed family in order to push through towards a more hopeful future.
