The Goat, or Who is Sylvia?

Edward Albee

Content warning [May contain spoilers]

Martin and Stevie have been happily married for many years now. With a son that they both love (and seemingly accept for being gay), a more than comfortable lifestyle, and passion left in their marriage, it seems to be the ideal life. But when Martin is interviewed by his friend Ross for his fiftieth birthday, events are set in motion that threaten to tear down this life and leave his family in tatters. With Edward Albee's trademark acerbic wit and humour, The Goat is a hugely enjoyable parable that plumbs the deepest questions of social constraints on the individual expression of love.
