"I long To hear the story of your life, which must Take the ear strangely."
Tonight, we hear the story of Prospero's life. It is a story told around the campfire; one of days gone by. A story told in a night which seems to last a year, from bright spring, to golden summer, to the snows and crisp, starry nights of winter. A story telling of a person at the height of her power relinquishing both strength and revenge before drawing towards old age, alongside her fading world.
'The Tempest' will draw from the British folk tradition and European physical theatre techniques, alongside shadow play, to tell the story of one of Shakespeare's most elusive and dark plays.
