The Wind in the Willows

Kenneth Grahame, adapted by Alan Bennett

The beguiling charm of Kenneth’s Grahame’s classic story and the sparkling wit of Alan Bennett’s dialogue combine in this entertaining adaptation creating a delightful show for all ages.
The charismatic, eccentric and endearing characters of Mole, Rat, Toad and Badger are joined by their woodland friends and other characters as they accompany Toad on his misadventures in caravans, cars, boats and trains.  The Wild Wood is an ever present threat, as is the sinister gang that inhabits that world……
Alan Bennett’s stage adaptation of The Wind in the Willows has been highly praised ever since it was first performed at the National Theatre.  Bawds is delighted to bring this family show to the Cambridge audience in the run up to Christmas.

The ADC Theatre is Britain's oldest University playhouse, today administered and maintained by the University of Cambridge. Plays have been presented on the site since 1855, when the Cambridge University Amateur Dramatic Club (CUADC) was founded, and the society met and performed in the back room of the Hoop Inn, which stood almost exactly where the ADC Theatre stands today.  Today, the ADC Theatre is the centre of University drama in Cambridge, run almost entirely by students with no Faculty involvement.

This venue is wheelchair accessible.
