One of the most banned books in history, Radclyffe Hall's The Well of Loneliness comes to Cambridge in a brand new, original play adaptation.
The story follows Stephen Gordon, someone who hunts, wears trousers, cuts her hair short, as she explores her own gender identity, sexuality and relationship to her family. Finding a ‘chosen family’ through her love of Mary Llewyn, we explore how our childhood experiences socialise and shapes how we see ourselves. Staged with an appreciation of the current LGBTQ+ climate, the play offers a space to reclaim, mourn and celebrate the enduring beauty and history of queer love.
This production is suitable for ages 16 and over.
