Booking using the new ADC Theatre Seating Plan
We have created a new seating plan for the ADC Theatre to ensure that we can safely observe 1m+ social distancing provided that all audience members are wearing face coverings. You are encouraged to bring your own face covering, but you can also buy an ADC branded face mask at the Box Office for £6.
Rather than booking individual seats you will be required to select a single ticket from a selection of different areas depending on the size of your group. You can only attend the theatre in a group if all members are from the same household or support bubble. Please only select one ‘seat’ for your whole group. You can then confirm the exact number of people in your group at the next stage of the booking process.
Once you have selected a ticket you will then be asked to confirm the number of people in your group and add any discounted concession tickets if required. If you are uncertain about whether you or a member of your group are eligible for a discounted ticket, check our Concessions list further down this page.
Further information about which seats in the auditorium will be in use can be found on our Coronavirus Information page.
Booking a Streaming Ticket
The majority of shows at the ADC Theatre are being livestreamed. This ensures that our audiences are still able to access great theatre even during a time that we are restricting access to the auditorium.
Streaming tickets are cheaper than standard ticket prices and will give you a unique link to access a video of the show, which will be broadcast at the same time as it is happening in the Theatre.
If you would like to book a streaming ticket for an ADC Mainshow click on the ‘Streaming’ box at the bottom of the seating plan. You will have the option to buy a livestreaming ticket that reflects the size of the group watching the show, but we will assume that this group is watching the show together off one device. Your link to view the livestream will be unique to you and you will not be able to pass it on to another person who has not bought a ticket.
You can book a streaming ticket in person at our Box Office, by calling our Box Office at 01223 300085, or online at www.adctheatre.com.
If you have any technical issues during the time that you are watching a livestreamed show, you can call our Box Office at 01223 300085, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or use the hashtag #ADCstream on Twitter.
The ADC Box Office is open Monday - Saturday 1pm - 6pm. Tickets can be bought in person or over the phone on 01223 300085. There are no booking charges.
On The Door
Tickets will be available to book on the door for our shows if there are any available.
Paperless show programmes can be bought for all of our 7:45pm mainshows from just £1. Programmes will be available to buy at the point of booking or on-the-door of the event for patrons with a device that can scan QR codes.
Programmes bought online will be emailed to customers on the day of the performance. Please get in touch with our Box Office by calling 01223 300085 if you have not received your programme prior to the show's start time.
Branded Face Coverings
Reusable ADC branded face coverings can be bought online or at the Box Office for only £6 alongside ticket purchases for any of our in-person events. Masks bought online can either be collected from the Box Office or posted for an additional charge.
You can pre-order ice cream to be able to collect from the Bar during the interval. Our Beechdean ice creams are £2 for regular customers, and £1 for ADC Friends, ADC Fellows and CUADC members.
Terms and Conditions
All tickets are non-refundable but may be exchanged for an alternative performance of the same production subject to availability, or refunded to credit on your Box Office account to be used against future bookings at the ADC Theatre or Corpus Playroom.
As our tickets are now for groups rather than for individuals, the whole group must be able to attend the performance that the ticket is rescheduled for.
Our full Terms and Conditions can be read here.
Concessions are usually offered for Students, Under 16s, Senior Citizens, Jobseekers, University of Cambridge Alumni, current University of Cambridge staff and holders of Council Leisure Card A and the Cambridge Visitor Card. Valid ID must always be shown when buying a concessionary ticket.
Customers are welcome to check with the box office to see if there have been any returned tickets. Please contact the Box Office for more information.
We do not keep a waiting list for sold-out events. The best way to guarantee tickets is to book well in advance. Please note we will only resell tickets once a performance has completely sold out.
Day seats are currently not being offered for shows while social distancing is in place.

What does the little ‘i’ on all of the seats on the seating plan mean?
The ‘i’ figure on the seats is an information note. If you hover over the seats (or press and hold the seats on a smartphone or tablet the following message will be displayed: “Please be aware that the layout of this seating plan does not reflect the actual layout of the auditorium. Seats will be assigned on a first come first served basis upon arrival.”
The online booking system won't accept my card.
We know of some cards that our Merchant Services provider won't accept; for example we cannot accept American Express or cards with a foreign billing address. Please call our Box Office on 01223 300085, or use a different card.
Can I log out once I've booked my tickets?
Yes, under the 'My Account' heading on the right hand side of your screen you will see a link that says 'Login/Logout'. Simply click this and you will be taken to a page which will either provide a 'Logout' button, or, if you are not logged in then will ask for your login details.
Can I book student/concessionary tickets online?
Yes. When you've selected your show and group size you will have the ability to choose which type each ticket should be.
Why is there a limit on the number of tickets I can buy online?
We want to discourage people buying and reselling our tickets. Also, if you are buying a large number of tickets, we can offer a group discount for certain performances. Please call our box office.
Why does it only show me one seat number in my basket when I’ve selected two tickets?
The seat number that you see in your basket now just refers to an internal system that helps us keep track of how many groups will be attending. If you have the correct number of tickets selected in the dropdown then the booking will be fine. If you are still unsure then please contact the box office.
How does the Streaming ticket option work?
Streaming tickets are cheaper than standard ticket prices and will give you a unique link to access a video of the show, which will be broadcast at the same time as it is happening in the Theatre. Your link to view the livestream will be unique to you and you will not be able to pass it on to another person. You will be asked to select the size of the group watching the show. This group will then all need to watch the show on a single device. You can only purchase one livestreaming ticket per performance per account. For further information about our Streaming tickets, visit our Livestreaming page.
