What would you do for freedom?
For Carthage, the war against Rome laid beyond the horizon, on the shores Spain, the depths of Italy, but now it rears its ugly head in Africa.
In a desperate attempt for allies, the noble-woman Sophonisba is torn away from her lover, and married to another. Now she finds herself a political pawn, but can her own schemes save the very state that betrayed her?
Her former lover, scorned and cast aside, grows restless as the war tears them apart once again.
This production is suitable for ages 16 and over.

The Corpus Playroom is owned by Corpus Christi College, and managed by the University of Cambridge through the ADC Theatre. The College drama society, the Fletcher Players, are the resident company.
The L-shaped studio is Cambridge's primary fringe space, showcasing a variety of productions, with an emphasis on new writing. Seasons are programmed simultaneously with the ADC Theatre.
