"I was looking across at the Boche trenches and right beyond - not a sound or a soul. You could have heard a pin drop in the quiet, yet you knew thousands of guns were hidden there, all ready and cleaned and oiled - millions of bullets lying in pouches - thousands of Germans, waiting, and thinking".
On the Western Front in 1918, Captain Stanhope and his men await the biggest German attack of the war so far. With orders to hold their ground, and knowing their chances of survival are slim, the officers are forced to confront their own mortality. When Stanhope's childhood friend arrives in the trenches, he must contend with his lost innocence and how the war has changed him forever. All the while, death could be just moments away...
This production is suitable for ages 12 and over.

The Corpus Playroom is owned by Corpus Christi College, and managed by the University of Cambridge through the ADC Theatre. The College drama society, the Fletcher Players, are the resident company.
The L-shaped studio is Cambridge's primary fringe space, showcasing a variety of productions, with an emphasis on new writing. Seasons are programmed simultaneously with the ADC Theatre.
